the wild the wondrous and the deeply human

Making space for the wild, the wondrous, and the deeply human.

“Who are we then? We are makers and fabricators, we are free, we are active, we are interesting, we are interested and curious, we are part of a vast creative universe, we are energetic and alive, we are creators and co-creators.”
— M. Fox (2002)

In a world increasingly filtered through screens and algorithms, live performance matters more than ever. Whether as participants, makers, or audience members, performance offers us something vital — an invitation to presence, imagination, play, and collective meaning-making.

My creative practice is a dedication to liveness and aliveness. Through theatre, movement, improvisation, light, and sound, I explore the capacity of performance to reconnect us to joy, spontaneity, deep listening, and shared humanity.

A Life in Performance

The roots of my creative practice stretch back to childhood, growing up with two performing artists as parents. I learned early on how humour, dance, music, and storytelling can transform a space — bringing light into eyes, homes, and hearts. I performed in my father's plays as a child, later studying at a Performing Arts High School in New Jersey, training in Community Theatre in Edinburgh, and completing a Theatre Making degree at Dartington College of Arts in Devon.

Since graduating in 1994, I’ve created more than 30 original productions — working with:

  • Professional artists

  • Community performers

  • Disabled artists

  • Young people

  • Intergenerational ensembles

  • And as a solo performer

Every piece is different. Every process is a new world. What ties them together is an ethos of curiosity, responsiveness, and play — letting the unknown lead, welcoming the emergence of something beautifully unexpected.
